We've learned from the rhythm of winemaking that the fruits of today's labors won't be realized for one, two, even three years, sometimes more. We plan ahead in the vineyard as we do in the cellar, and we try to keep this forward thinking in mind at home, too. In our wines and in our family, the attention and energy and care we put in now makes a sustainable structure that will stand the test of time, and we look forward to reaping the benefits later. At least that's the hope. We're giddy with pride at how both are turning out, our wines and our kids, as we watch them make their way in the world. This year, our inaugural vintage of Cabernet Sauvignon from Disappearing Ink will make its way into your worlds, from vines we planted seven years ago and tended diligently to mature fruit deserving of its very own label, and worthy of your attention.
2022 Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon, “DISAPPEARING INK”
Black cherry, fresh ginger, cream soda, and cassis on the nose. Notes of dusted cocoa powder, cinnamon stick and saltwater taffy with hints of cardamom and espresso. Creamy raspberry entry of fresh caramel, mocha and chocolate mousse with a supple, elegant mouthfeel. Impressive depth and power from mid to finish with lingering notes of tangerine zest, chocolate cake, pomegranate juice and strawberry preserves.
2022 Howell Mountain Estate Petite Sirah, “THE ARBITER”
Blackberry pie, Dr. Pepper, toasted marshmallow, Earl Grey tea, raspberry croissant, and fresh black pepper, with hints of sea salted caramel and blueberry syrup. Incredibly viscous entry of black raspberry, maple donut, and s'mores. A rich, full mid-palate of coffee cake and cherry cheesecake, to a powerfully elegant finish.
2022 Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon, "ALCHEMY"
Dark chocolate cherries, strawberry taffy, cherry tobacco, cinnamon candy, cedar hope chest and blueberry smoothie with hints of fresh vanilla bean and coffee ice cream. A luscious mouthful of ripe blackberries with chocolate-covered espresso bean on the entry. Expansive mid-palate of cherry cobbler and toasted graham cracker to a very full and long-lasting finish of mocha and cherry juice.
The Arbiter and Disappearing Ink are completely allocated. Large formats of Petite Sirah and Cab are available on a first come, first served basis. Inquire about pricing.
Cheers to sustainable structure,
Jon and Jaime Jones
