Spring 2020

There’s a story behind every vintage of Paravel, from vineyard to cellar to bottle. How our vineyards got their names (one from a bird, one from a book), how we acquired some new grapes (a stranger in our garage), the yearly anticipation of picking dates and bottling, the early morning picks (our daughters’ favorite days), the blending sessions (thanks Greenes) and many memorable tastings. We make the story of what goes in our bottles, and you make the story of what pours out. We are so proud and full of gratitude that you are part of our story and we are part of yours. Cheers to the next chapter!

Jon's catalog of rosés seems to expand each year. You'll understand why when you taste them. Like our reds (to be released in August), these pinks are all varietal and 100% intentional.

2019 Mendocino Poor Ranch Vineyards Rosé of Old Vine Zinfandel:

Apricot juice and tangerine zest with a kiss of vanilla bean & creme brulee. A luxurious silk entry with a ruby red grapefruit mid-palate to a long finish and a tantalizing starfruit burst, begging for another sip. Exceptional with sushi!

2019 Sonoma Valley Rosé of Syrah:

Strawberries and cream, vanilla wafers, raspberry Jelly Belly, with hints of lime, ginger, and tangelo. Dazzling lemonade notes with excellent acidity finesse the mid-palate, building to a full-bodied thirst quenching finish. Light the grill and enjoy!

2019 Howell Mountain Rosé of Cabernet Sauvignon:

Clementine, sweet tea, honeydew melon & ripe cantaloupe. A brilliant and playful entry with juicy cherry and watermelon candy mid-palate. Five vintages in, we still can’t get enough of this wine!

2019 Howell Mountain Estate Rosé of Petite Sirah “THE ARBITER”:

Last year we made a rosé from The Arbiter to see what flavor profiles were developing in our young vineyard. Year 2, and it looks like this wine is here to stay. Pink cotton candy and kettle corn. Rich strawberry sauce over homemade vanilla bean ice cream. A full mid-palate with a ripe guava and cranberry finish.

Howell Mountain Proprietary Red Wine III:

We proudly introduce the third installment of the only blend on the Paravel roster, the Prop. Red III. The intention of this wine is to offer an incredible Howell Mountain Cabernet at an incredible price. On the nose: raspberry, toasted pistachio nut, and warm caramel. A silky entry with chocolate and cocoa nib integrates to a supple lengthy finish of boysenberry, blackberry juice, cedar and fresh mint leaf with lingering notes of nectarine and mocha.

You might have noticed we have a thing for single vineyard bottling. This year's ParavOIL offerings are worthy of the appelation distinction.

2019 Diamond Mountain Extra Virgin Olive Oil, "ParavOIL":

Rich, silky body with peppercorn and sweet grassy notes.

2019 Howell Mountain Extra Virgin Olive Oil, "ParavOIL":

Smooth velvet structure with wheatgrass, butter and a clean pepper bite.

2019 Spring Mountain Extra Virgin Olive Oil, "ParavOIL":

Fruit on the nose, spicy on the entry and excellent bitterness on the finish.

Our Wine Club is officially at full capacity. The waiting list is a promising prospect for securing an allocation of reds in the Fall, as availability may expand. Contact jon@paravelwines.com to inquire.
