When we released the first vintage of Paravel in 2013, we had high hopes that enough of you would hop on board to make it worthwhile. Fast forward to 2018, five years on, and our current vintage is almost fully allocated. Thanks to all of you, the Paravel Wine Club is nearly at full capacity, and newcomers will be placed on a waiting list. This isn't the final goal for our little family winery, but it's a pretty exciting point to have reached!

Our production is growing little by little, but winemaking at Paravel is still a one-man show. Jon makes the calls on planting, picking, pumpovers, punchdowns, pressing, racking, blending and bottling. Our vineyard (2 years old in July!) has become mama's turf, Jaime can be spotted out there on many mornings with clippers and a shovel: training and tying vines and battling weeds. It becomes a true family affair when it's time for grapes to come in or wine to go out, and our girls join in for picking, sorting and bottling.

Eden (11) placed the capsules on every bottle of the 2016 vintage, and Mazzy (14) packed it all into boxes. Every Paravel bottle you open is a story you helped write. We hope you enjoy being a part of this family. We sure do!

Notes on the Vintage:

The 2016 growing season was a long journey. The grapes took their time, ripening at a leisurely pace while Jon waited for the right flavor profile. With extra diligence in the vineyard and an obsessive eye on maturity, we harvested in mid-October. Sorting was meticulous and fermentation slow, but all that arduous care resulted in one of Paravel's most magnificent vintages. So, without further ado, we proudly introduce our newest offerings.

2016 Howell Mountain Henry Brothers Ranch Petite Sirah

Grated nutmeg, resinous fresh cracked black pepper, and sweet unctuous black raspberry and blackberry juice embrace the senses with hints of fresh plum, cassis, and milk chocolate. A silky, luxurious entry leads in to a thick mid-palate, laced with lush black fruit and sumptuous fresh vanilla bean crème brûlée. 6 bottle limit/household.

2016 Howell Mountain Henry Brothers Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon

Juicy black cherry, espresso bean, toffee, and sweet nutmeg with notes of dusty cedar and cocoa powder. An explosion of unfettering black fruit promenades to full cream mid-palate. Layers of dark chocolate and silky ganache continue through a rich finish that can’t stop, won’t stop.
