When last we contacted all of you, we let you know that our property was ready to plant. Now we happily announce the arrival of 1,352 healthy, happy rootstock! We couldn't be more proud.

Dug into the Howell Mountain soil on July 1, 2016, the Paravel Estate Vineyard is here, alive and growing strong. Every day those roots push into the ground, we feel more and more connected to this land and this life. These grapes and the wines they eventually produce will be something special indeed.

The talented hands and fascinating machines of local farmers and vineyard workers made this happen, and our respect for these guys is as big and strong as their steel post driver. A humble hat's off to Erik Dodd and the crew at Wight Vineyard Management for the installation of this beauty of a vineyard.

Enough about vines, now let's talk about the wines!

2014 was the third year of a long California drought, which gave the fruit off of Henry Brothers Ranch a powerful intensity. To achieve balance was to embrace patience and adjust winemaking to embody the vintage. We maintained our style of integration and approachability and are proud to offer these distinctive reds.

2014 Howell Mountain Henry Brothers Ranch Petite Sirah

Chocolate-covered black raspberry with a twist of blood orange, resinous fresh-cracked black pepper and a hint of cherry bark. A silky smooth entry segues seamlessly into a dense and expansive mid-palate. The finish of dark chocolate, graham cracker, toasted pistachio and cardamom highlight this extremely balanced, structured beauty. Drink now to 2030.

2014 Howell Mountain Henry Brothers Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon

Black cherry, ripe plum and cocoa nib entice with layers of spice and intense blackberry seed minerality. A powerful, rich entry evolves into increasing structure and a full mid-palate to the crushed velvet finish of dark berry, fresh Madagascar vanilla bean and dark roast espresso.
